HOPE Senior Box Program


The Senior Box Program is designed to improve the health and nutrition of senior citizens. Some seniors are forced to make tough choices between paying their utilities, buying life-saving medications or purchasing food. The goal of the Senior Box Program is to provide a free box of nutritious food where they may have little or no access to food assistance.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be 60 years of age or older. Proof of gross income is required. If you are currently receiving SNAP (Food Stamps); SSI (disability); or Medicaid, you automatically qualify. If you are living on Social Security or Retirement, then your Household Gross income must be at or below the following:

Standards for participation in the program are the same for everyone regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex or disability. You may appeal any decision made by the local agency regarding your denial or termination from the program. If your application is approved, the local agency will make nutrition education available to you and you are encouraged to participate.
